Cowboy, a Brussels, Belgium-based startup that developed an innovative electric bike for the commuter, raised $3m in seed funding.
The round was led by Index Ventures, with participation from Hardware Club, Kima Ventures, Thibaud Elziere (eFounders), Bertrand Jelensperger (LaFourchette), Harold Mechelynck (Ogone), Frederic Potter (Netatmo) and Francis Nappez (BlaBlaCar).
The company intends to use the funds to roll out their product to other European markets early next year.
Founded in January 2017 by Adrien Roose, Karim Slaoui and Tanguy Goretti, Cowboy blends design with technology to connect owners to their bikes through a mobile app, featuring a secure key, live stats, and GPS tracking.
Cowboy’s vehicles go on sale today in Belgium via their website: www.cowboy.bike.
