Lumina Networks, a San Jose, Calif.-based open source networking company, closed a $10m Series A financing.
The round was led by Verizon Ventures with participation from AT&T and Rahi Systems.
The company intends to use the funds for the development of new products and innovative solutions, and for geographic expansion.
Operating independently, following a spin-off from Brocade in August 2017, and led by Andrew Coward, Founder and CEO, Lumina Networks provides SDN controller solutions. The Lumina SDN Controller, powered by OpenDaylight, provides an open platform for developers, giving providers direct control over their SDN development and implementation. Today, the OpenDaylight SDN Controller is widely deployed, supporting over 1 billion users worldwide.
