Motorleaf Raises $2.85M in Seed Funding

-

Motorleaf, a Montreal, Canada-based artificial intelligence startup focused on bringing actionable, data-driven insights to greenhouse and indoor operators, raised USD$2.85m in seed funding.

The investment, closed in two rounds with the final $2m USD committed this May, is led by Radicle Growth and includes support from Desjardins Capital, Real Ventures, Fluxunit (Osram Ventures), BDC Capital and 500 Startups Canada. In conjunction with the funding, Radicle Growth CEO Kirk Haney and Lars Roessler from Fluxunit will join Motorleaf’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop its solutions.

Led by CEO Alastair Monk, Motorleaf provides artificial intelligence driven real-time, agronomic solutions for the controlled-environment agriculture sector. The company’s hardware and software helps greenhouse operators predict accurate harvest amounts and meet contract obligations, plan weekly operations and foresee production capacities in real time.
