Newchip, an Austin, Texas-based investment marketplace, closed $2m seed funding.
Backers included JadeValue Fintech, Yeoman’s Capital, Spunik ATX, Youbi Capital, and Polymath.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand its operations and business reach.
Led by Ryan Rafols, founder and CEO, and Judd Hollas, co-founder and CFO, Newchip is an investment marketplace for new and experienced investors to discover opportunities and invest in them, build a diverse portfolio and find ventures they can support and back in exchange for a return on investment. Investors can start investing with as low as $100 and entrepreneurs can raise up to $50 million. In 2017, $300 million in investment capital was sought by 800+ listed companies.
The company also opened up its marketplace to blockchain and securitized tokens and is continually adding new sectors, categories, and hundreds of investment opportunities each month.
