The Sill, a New York-based online and offline seller of potted plants, raised $5m in Series A funding.
The round, which brought total funding raised to date to $7.5m, was led by Raine Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations.
Founded in 2012 and led by CEO Eliza Blank, The Sill is a consumer business that sells plants (along with basic care instructions) and allows buyers to ask questions to plant experts. With the opening of its first brick-and-mortar stores in New York City, the company also offers weekly workshops.
According to reports, more than 75,000 products in the last six months were sold.
