Goodwell Investments, an Amsterdam, The Netherlands-based investment firm focused on financial inclusion and inclusive growth in sectors providing basic goods and services and income generation opportunities to the underserved in Africa and India, launched a new €20m fund for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Goodwell IV will be invested in fast growing companies that offer products and services to the unserved and underserved. The aim is to build a portfolio that will spread across impact sectors and regions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Half the fund will be invested in financial services, as the financial sector.
The remainder will go to agriculture, health and sanitation, energy, and transport.
Goodwell Investments provides early stage equity to high growth, high impact businesses, with a focus on tech-driven solutions, because technology, especially on the vast African continent, enables businesses to reach more consumers faster and at much lower cost.
