Lumen, a London, UK-based provider of a dating app for people over 50, raised £3.5m in seed funding.
Andrey Andreev, the founder of Badoo, made the investment.
The company is using the funds to continue to expand its reach after the UK launch.
Co-founded by CEO Antoine Argouges and CMO Charly Lester, Lumen is a new free dating app specifically designed for over 50s, which wants to ensure safety, high quality profiles, and meaningful conversations focusing on the interests that matter to users.
The app, which is available to download on iOS and Android, can be used following a verification process in which all users are be required to take and upload a selfie and authenticate their identity.
Every profile includes at least 3 photos and a detailed bio.
