-

artificial-intelligenceSLAMcore, a London, UK-based company developing spatial artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for robots and drones, raised $5m in funding.

The round was led by Amadeus Capital Partners, with participation from existing investors Mirai Creation Fund and Toyota AI Ventures and newcomers MMC Ventures and Octopus Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand development efforts.

These spatial AI solutions are designed to integrate into existing platforms, allowing robotics companies to concentrate on delivering value to the end customer.
The company spun out from the Department of Computing at Imperial College London in early 2016 and closed its first funding round in March 2017.
It has a team of 15 with a wide range of expertise in designing and deploying spatial algorithms for robots.
