Cognata Raises $18.5M in Series B Funding Round

cognataCognata, Ltd., a Rehovot, Israel-based autonomous vehicles’ simulation tech developer, closed an $18.5m funding.

The round was led by Scale Venture Partners with participation from existing investors Emerge, Maniv Mobility, Airbus Ventures and Global IoT Technology Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Scale Venture Partners Partner Rory O’Driscoll will be joining the board of directors.

The company will use the funding to grow its engineering group and expand commercial operations in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Founded in 2016 by Danny Atsmon, CEO, Cognata provides an automotive simulation platform that combines artificial intelligence, deep learning, and computer vision to provide a realistic virtual environment that accurately simulates real-world test driving, allowing for realistic results.
Cognata recently announced that Autonomous Intelligent Driving GmbH (AID), a wholly-owned subsidiary of AUDI AG, selected it as its autonomous vehicle simulation partner. The company provides AID with its full product lifecycle simulation solution as part of a multi-year partnership.
