Summersalt, a St. Louis based direct-to-consumer swimwear brand, raised a $6.1M Series A funding.
The round, which brought total funding to $8.7M, was led by Founders Fund, with participation from Lewis and Clark Ventures, Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, Dundee Venture Capital, Breakout Capital, Cultivation Capital, Victress Capital, Amplifyher Ventures, M25 and Giuliana and Bill Rancic.
The company intends to use the funds to grow the team, expand its size offering, develop new categories beyond swimwear, including travelwear and packing essentials, and roll out a content platform in early 2019, that will connect like minded women and travelers across the globe.
Led by Lori Coulter, Co-Founder, CEO and President, and Reshma Chattaram Chamberlin, Co-Founder, Chief Brand and Digital Officer, Summersalt is a direct-to-consumer swimwear brand. Launched in May 2017, the company offers innovative eco-friendly swimwear, without the designer price tag, leveraging via a data-backed fit system, which was created using over 10,000 real women’s body scans, over 1.5M measurements, as well as an early patent on recommending garments based on body type and consumer preference.
