agoraAgora.io, a Santa Clara, CA- and Shanghai, China-based voice, video and live broadcasting platform, closed a $70m Series C round of funding.

The round, which brought total capital raised to $125m to date, was led by Coatue Management, with participation from existing investors SIG, Morningside and Shunwei Capital.

Founded in 2014 by Tony (Bin) Zhao, Agora provides real-time voice, video and live broadcasting solutions for web and mobile applications.

The company, which has customers in over 100 countries, offers a platform of building blocks and capabilities that allows developers to embed real-time voice, video, and interactive low-latency live broadcasting APIs into any web or mobile application.
With the platform, developers can leverage embedded audio, video and live broadcasting across small and large use cases to increase user engagement and stickiness with real-time, low latency video.
The platform includes features like voice and video calling, group conferencing, and interactive broadcasting, 3D and spatial audio for gaming, and much more.

The company is providing communications services to organizations across industries, including social discovery, social media, gaming, e-commerce, education, customer service, telemedicine, financial services and more.
