Shape Security Raises $26M in Funding

shapeShape Security, a Mountain View, Calif.-based provider of bot mitigation and anti-automation for the world’s largest companies, closed $26m in funding.

The round, which brought total funding raised to date to $132m, was led by Norwest Venture Partners, with participation from JetBlue Technology Ventures and Singtel Innov8 and existing investors Kleiner Perkins, Venrock, Baseline Ventures, Allegis Capital, Focus Ventures, Epic Ventures, Raging Capital, and Tomorrow Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate international expansion.

Led by Derek Smith, Co-Founder and CEO, and Sumit Agarwal, co-founder & COO, and Shuman Ghosemajumder, CTO, and Xinran Wang, Chief Security Scientist, Shape provides an AI platform that detects and shuts down automated attacks in real-time. Its platform can distinguish real users from fraudsters even when criminals use manual methods.
The solution eliminates bots, fraud and unwanted automation for more than 20 percent of the consumer brands in the Fortune 500 while protecting over 100 million legitimate human logins each day.
The company also has offices in London and Sydney.
