Vicis, Inc., a Seattle, WA-based provider of sports protective technologies, raised $28.5m in Series B funding.
Backers included NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers through Rx3 Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop technologies for players at all levels.
Led by Dave Marver, CEO and co-founder, Vicis Vicis focuses on sports protective technologies. Its inaugural product, the ZERO1 football helmet, launched in 2017. The company recently launched its ZERO1 YOUTH helmet, the first football helmet optimized for kids, for team and individual orders.
Like its varsity counterpart, the ZERO1 YOUTH features a deformable outer shell and columnar layer designed to slow impact forces like a car bumper. The helmet features a lightweight, compact design tailored to youth anatomies and offers a wide field of view, allowing young players to see more of the field and react more quickly to potential impacts.
