Bios, a Cambridge, U.K.-based neural engineering startup, raised $4.5m in seed funding.
The round was co-led by Real Ventures, AME Cloud Ventures, and Ariel Poler with participation from Endure Capital, Heuristic Capital Partners, K5 Ventures, and Charles Songhurst, a former GM of corporate strategy at Microsoft.
The company intends to use the funds to scale its technical team and further develop its core neural interface technologies.
Co-founded by Emil Hewage and Oliver Armitage, Bios leverages hardware, big data and machine learning/AI to develop a neural interface to develop new treatments on organs and nerve systems throughout the body.
The company also has R&D office in Montreal, Canada.
