Privitar, a London, UK-based data privacy software provider, received a minority strategic investment from Citi.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed. Citi joined existing shareholders Partech, Salesforce Ventures, CME Ventures, Illuminate Financial Management and IQ Capital.
The investment will support the company’s international expansion, particularly in the US where it plans to expand its existing teams on the East Coast.
Led by Jason du Preez, CEO, Privitar provides a data privacy software platform to organizations across industries including financial services, life sciences, public sector and telecommunications.
Customers use the software to reduce the threat of advanced privacy attacks and protect data using the latest privacy enhancing technologies.
Established in 2014, the company also has offices in New York and Paris.
