Trala, a Chicago, IL-based app that teaches violin, raised $1.29m in seed funding.

– Bob Meese (VP of Business at Duolingo), and
– Severin Hacker (CTO at Duolingo).
Co-founded by Sam Walder and Vishnu Indukuri, Trala is a Juilliard-approved app that teaches users how to play the violin. The app uses advanced signal processing and tutorials to teach absolute beginners how to play songs in 30 days.
With over 60,000 downloads, Trala is available on the App Store.
Headquartered in Chicago, the company is part of Techstars Chicago located within 1871 and also supported by notable violinists such as Chicago’s Rachel Barton Pine and former Juilliard professor Stefan Milenkovich.
