Babyscripts, Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based virtual care platform for managing obstetrics, raised $6m in funding.
The round was led by Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), an international health technology company, with participation from StartUp Health and NueCura Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to focus on building more products for patients in pregnancy.
Led by CEO and Co-founder Anish Sebastian and Juan Pablo Segura, President and Co-founder, Babyscripts provides a clinically-validated virtual care obstetrics platform. Using internet-connected devices for remote monitoring, the company offers risk-specific experiences to allow providers to manage pregnancies virtually, allowing doctors to detect risk more quickly and automate elements of care.
With the recent acquisition of iBirth, a provider-delivered, co-branded pregnancy app, Babyscripts now offers a large holistic and engaging technology program to manage pregnancy and postpartum, now managing more than 150,000 pregnancies across 20 states.
In connection with the investment from Philips, the company intends to partner with the Mother/Baby unit of Philips Healthcare to build the market’s most extensive, clinically-validated virtual care obstetrics and pediatrics platform to support holistic care for mothers in pregnancy and postpartum care.
