ProntoPro, a Milan, Italy-based professional marketplace platform, raised €6m in funding. Backers in the round, which brought total funding to €10m, included Immobiliare.it and other unnamed investors. In conjunction with the new funding, Giovanni Ciserani, former Procter & Gamble’s Group President, Global Fabric & Home Care and Baby & Feminine Care and current Hero’s Board Chairman of the Board, will join ProntoPro’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its business reach, expand in Europe following the recent launch in Austria and Switzerland, and improve the functionalities of its tech system.
Founded in 2015 by Silvia Wang and Marco Ogliengo, ProntoPro is a platform for people to find artisans and professionals, compare the price of their proposals, in over 400 categories including designers, photographers, painters, nutritionists, event organizers, personal trainers, electricians, renovation professionals, language teachers, gardeners, etc.
ProntoPro claims it has over 1 million users in Italy, and 350k registered professionals. It currently has a team of 100.
The website has over 3m visitors a month.
