Ubiquity Ventures, a Palo Alto, California-based seed-stage venture capital firm that invests in software beyond the screen with a focus on startups in smart hardware and machine intelligence applications, has officially launched.
Founded by Managing Partner Sunil Nagaraj (formerly at Bessemer Venture Partners), Ubiquity Venture is launching with a $30m debut vehicle that will make investments of up to $2m in startups as early as inception stage.
The firm invests in software leaping off the screen and entering the real world. So far, it has made nine investments including:
– Eclypsium,
– Elementary Robotics
– Halter
– Levl
– Parallel Domain
– Shoonya, and
– other three in stealth mode.
As an entrepreneur himself, Nagaraj takes a founder-centric approach to investing. Prioritizing transparency, coaching, and working hand-in-hand with the CEOs of backed companies.
He brings over a decade of Silicon Valley experience to Ubiquity Ventures, split between time as VC-backed founder/CEO and as a venture capitalist.
Nagaraj is supported by an extended team of of over 30 technologists and growth experts including former executives at Facebook, Slack, Pinterest, AirBnB, Stripe, Dropbox, Tile and more, who offer backed startups rich expertise in smart hardware and machine learning as well as marketing and sales support.
