Spoonfed Raises £575K in Funding

spoonfeldSpoonfed, a Glasgow, UK-based catering management software company, raised £575k in funding.

Equity Gap provided the funding.

The company intends to use the funds to expand in the US.

Led by co-founder and MD Willie Biggart, Spoonfed provides a SaaS based platform that creates real efficiencies for caterers and provides a straightforward ordering system for their customers. It is aimed specifically at contract catering firms and restaurants supplying catering to businesses, universities, hospitals and many other institutions.

The company currently employees 11 people and intends to increase this to 20 by the end of 2019. They will add software engineers at their new Glasgow HQ and further customer support staff in the US, where a Denver base will be established to complement that already in place on East coast USA.
Spoonfed is already established in the UK, Canada, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, France and Australia.

The platform is used by Contract Caterers Elior, Aramark, CH&Co, BaxterStorey, POD, Notes, Voodoo Ray, Le Pain Quotidien, Crussh, Benugo, Birleys, Flour Bakery, Paul USA, Zuckers Bagels and Maison Kayser.
