Butternut Box Raises £15M in Funding

-

butternut_boxButternut Box, a London, UK-based fresh dog food business, raised £15m in funding.

The round was led by Five Seasons Ventures and White Star Capital, with participation from existing backers Passion Capital and Literacy Capital alongside debt financier Kreos Capital. Alongside the funding, former SkyBet chief executive Richard Flint will join the Butternut board.

The company plans to use the funds to:
– launch into Europe and
– develop new dishes, snacks and toys.

Launched in 2016 by Kevin Glynn and David Nolan, Butternut is a box fresh dog food company which has produced more than 8 million meals for dogs across the UK. Dishes are cooked with fresh ingredients and portioned according to a dog’s breed, weight, sex and exercise regime before they are delivered to customers.
Last year, the company saw revenues grow by 700 per cent.
