Tennis champion Serena Williams has officially unveiled her venture capital firm.
Launched in 2014, Serena Ventures aims to back companies that embrace diverse leadership, individual empowerment, creativity and opportunity across an array of industries.
According to the website, to date, the firm has invested in over 30 companies across multiple industries, including businesses that touch e-commerce, food & beverage, fashion, health & wellness, social good, etc.

Beyond Williams, the team includes Vice President Alison J. Rapaport, CFA, who oversees portfolio management and sources new investments.
Previously, she worked at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in Multi- Asset Solutions and led the development of the firm’s Alternative Beta offering.
Rapaport graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, with a Bachelor of Science in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Operations & Information Management and a minor in Psychology.
She is a CFA charterholder and earned her MBA from Harvard Business School.
