Box (NYSE:BOX), a Redwood City, Calif.-based cloud content management company, appointed Peter Leav to its Board of Directors.
Leav was most recently the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of BMC Software, Inc.
Prior to joining BMC, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Polycom, a global collaboration business serving the enterprise market.
Previously, he was also Executive Vice President and President, Industry and Field Operations of NCR Corporation, a global technology company, and at Motorola, Inc., Leav was Corporate Vice president and General Manager of the enterprise business in North America, Latin America and EMEA.
Earlier in his career, he held executive sales leadership positions at Symbol Technologies and Cisco Systems. Leav holds a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University.

As Leav joins the Board of Directors, Steven Krausz, a General Partner of U.S. Venture Partners and a long-standing Box Board member, has decided to step down as a member of its board.
Founded in 2005, Box provides a cloud content management platform that enables organizations to accelerate business processes, power workplace collaboration and protect their most valuable information. The company works with 70 percent of the Fortune 500, including AstraZeneca, General Electric, Nationwide, and P&G.
