Catalyst OrthoScience Inc., a Naples, Fla.-based medical device company focused on the upper extremity orthopedics market, raised $12.7m in Series C-1 financing.
The round was led by River Cities Capital Funds. In conjunction with the funding, Carter McNabb, managing director at River Cities, will join Catalyst’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to hire additional talent and accelerate growth through increased inventory, expanded distribution and new product development.
Founded in 2014 by orthopedic surgeon Steven Goldberg, M.D., and led by Brian K. Hutchison, chairman and CEO, Catalyst OrthoScience is a medical device company focused on the upper extremity orthopedics market.
The Catalyst CSR™ Total Shoulder System is a single-tray, bone-preserving total shoulder arthroplasty system containing a precision elliptical humeral head and less invasive glenoid component, using specialized ergonomic instrumentation designed for consistent anatomic joint line restoration and glenoid insertion. The system can be used in both inpatient and outpatient settings and was cleared for use by the FDA in 2016.
Today, the Catalyst CSR system has been used in more than 1,000 surgeries.
