Modsy Raises $37M in Series C Funding

The round was led by TCV, with participation from existing investors Norwest Venture Partners, Advance Venture Partners (AVP), Comcast Ventures and
others. In conjunction with the round, TCV’s Executive Vice President Tina Hoang-To has joined Modsy’s board alongside Shanna Tellerman, Courtney Robinson, Partner at Advance Venture Partners and Jeff Crowe, Managing Partner at Norwest Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to:

  • invest in 3D automation,
  • expand its retail marketplace, and
  • enhance its design and concierge shopping services.

Led by Shanna Tellerman, Founder and CEO, Sam MacDonnell, Chief Technology Officer, Meredith Dunn, Chief Operating Officer, and Mustafa Nafar, VP of Finance, Modsy is an online interior design service that delivers highly realistic 3D designs of an exact room filled with shoppable pieces of furniture from top brands users can virtually “try on” products and designs before buying. The service provides unlimited revisions to designs through its tools or by working directly with designers. After finalizing a design, Modsy gives customers access to exclusive discounts on their aggregated cart that pay back the initial design fee.
