moovel (becoming Reach Now), a Portland, Ore.-based provider of mobile ticketing solutions in North America, acquired Validated, a technology platform that allows businesses, universities, retailers and restaurants to subsidize transportation for customers and employees and drive retail traffic to brick-and-mortar stores by offering ride subsidies to users of shared mobility services.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition will offer public transit agencies and mobility providers a tool for subsidizing trips and building relationships with employers and local businesses.
Founded as Parkt, Inc. dba Validated in 2015 by Tov Arneson, Ian Lyman and Alexander Wilhelm, Validated offers a patented technology platform that allows businesses to generate footfall and build customer loyalty through subsidized transportation options. The company partners with a wide variety of mobility service providers in North America, including public transit agencies, ride-hailing services, car-sharing services, bike and scooter share services, and parking providers.
Validated offers services in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco.
It is an alumnus of Techstars Seattle.
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reach Now, Validated will continue to operate as a separate brand and company.
Led by CEO Nat Parker, moovel North America, a part of Stuttgart, Germany-based moovel Group, offers cities, public transit agencies and users access to multimodal transportation options through simple smartphone applications. It is a pioneer in Mobility-as-a-Service and a North American provider of mobile ticketing solutions for public transit. It is one of the five joint ventures between the BMW Group and Daimler AG to reinvent mobility.
