Parmela Creamery, a NYC-based artisanal, plant-based cheese company, raised $1.25m in a seed financing.
The round was led by 25Madison, with participation from Gather Ventures and Luke Abbott.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, further strengthen brand awareness and support ongoing innovation.
Launched in 2014 by Ry Salomone, Parmela uses traditional techniques to make cashew-based cheese products. The company sells shreds, slices, sauces, dips, spreads, blocks and a new line of raviolis.
Products are available in thousands of stores including Publix Super Markets, Whole Foods Markets, Wegman’s and other leading retailers.
