Whitebox, a Baltimore, MD-based eCommerce automation and fulfillment technology company, closed a $5M Series A financing.
The round was led by TDF Ventures, with participation from David Williams, Chairman and CEO of Merkle, and Chris Brandenburg, Co-Founder and CTO of Millennial Media.
The company intends to use the funds to:
– accelerate its customer segment growth,
– hire key experts,
– invest in sales and marketing,
– refine its technology solutions, and
– open additional fulfillment centers in the U.S.
Led by Marcus Startzel, CEO, Whitebox provides a logistics platform which combines all functions of the eCommerce process into one service to allow established and challenger direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands to sell on a global level.
Its customers include large brands such as Starbucks and KitchenAid, as well as challenger digital-native brands such as Kitu (makers of Super Coffee) and Bare Bones.
