Agrivida, a Village of Four Seasons, Missouri-based animal health and nutrition company, raised $11M in the first tranche of its financing round.
The round, which has a final target of $20m, was led by the Open Prairie Rural Opportunities Fund ($8m), with participation from ARCH Venture Partners, Batios Holdings Limited, Cultivian Sandbox, Syngenta Ventures, Maschhoff’s Agricultural Holdings and Middleland Capital (which provided the remaining $3m).
The company intends to use the funds to facilitate expansion of its research and development platform and advancement of its commercialization strategy for its GRAINZYME® Phytase technology into the global poultry and swine markets.
Led by Dan Meagher, President and CEO, Agrivida focuses on development of feed additives for poultry, swine, dairy and beef cattle and aquaculture. Agrivida’s GRAINZYME® Phytase expresses enzymes and proteins by utilizing plants as the core manufacturing and delivery system.
