Thomson Reuters Buys HighQ

Thomson ReutersBusiness information services provider Thomson Reuters (TSX/NYSE: TRI) acquired HighQ, a London, UK-based collaboration platform for the legal and regulatory market.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquisition will expand on the company’s strategic objective to provide more cloud-based software offerings and will meet a growing market need for legal professionals, aligning with Thomson Reuters focus on legal, tax, compliance and risk.

Led by Ajay Patel, CEO and founder, HighQ offers a secure cloud-based platform for business collaboration, workflow automation and client engagement. The company currently serves more than 400 customers, including more than half of the Global 100 largest law firms.
The company also has offices in the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia and India.

Led by Jim Smith, president and CEO, Thomson Reuters provides products including highly specialized information-enabled software and tools for legal, tax, accounting and compliance professionals combined with the world’s most global news service – Reuters.
