Baze, the Boston, MA- Berlin, Germany- and Zurich, Switzerland-based company behind a blood-based, at-home nutritional testing kit offering subscription supplements, closed a $6m Series A funding round.
The round was led by Nature’s Way, a manufacturer of supplements.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its marketing efforts to educate consumers on the importance of personalized supplements, as well as expand its nutrient testing and supplement offerings.
Launched in 2018 by Philipp Schulte and Dr. Isam Haddad, Baze provides a blood-based, at-home nutritional testing kit to allow consumers to understand their nutrient needs. Based on these results, the company offers high-quality subscription supplements that allow them to optimize their nutrient levels in 3 months. Baze measures micronutrient levels on a regular basis to ensure sustainable improvement in nutritional levels and overall health. Once users’ samples are analyzed, the company delivers personalized, smart vitamin supplements right to them based on their results.
All supplements are free of GMOs, gluten, lactose, and artificial coloring, and are now available as a fully vegan option. Monthly, personalized supplement packets are available starting at $15/month. For $99, the Baze Starter Kit includes the blood test, results analysis, and one month of personalized daily vitamin packs.
