Syncsort, a Pearl River, NY-based provider of Big Iron to Big Data software, acquired SQData, an Addison, Texas-based provider of enterprise-class data integration technology.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquired products and expertise will advance Syncsortâs ability, through the Connect portfolio, to allow customers to uncover value of critical mainframe data by integrating that data with emerging technologies.
Led by Josh Rogers, CEO, Syncsort is the global leader in Big Iron to Big Data software. It organizes data that powers machine learning, AI and predictive analytics everywhere to provide a simple way to optimize, assure, integrate, and advance data, helping to solve for the present and prepare for the future.
Building on Syncsortâs existing support for VSAM and Db2/z data, the SQData acquisition brings new capabilities for IBM IMS.
The SQData acquisition closely follows Syncsortâs launch of Connect CDC, which enables companies to build streaming data pipelines for real-time sharing of mainframe and other data sources. Connect CDC allows customers to publish data from legacy systems to streaming frameworks such as Kafka and next generation repositories such as Hadoop and cloud data lakes.
