Cloudera (NYSE: CLDR), a Palo Alto, Calif.-based enterprise data cloud company, is to acquire certain assets of Arcadia Data, a provider of cloud-native AI-powered business intelligence and real-time analytics.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
With the acquisition, Cloudera expect that the entire Arcadia Data organization will join the team.
Led by Sushil Thomas, CEO, Arcadia Data provides an architecture that delivers fast insights from modern data platforms like cloud object stores, Apache Kafka and Apache Hadoop. Its patent-pending ArcEngine technology enables enterprises to generate insights in use cases like data lakes, cybersecurity, IoT and customer intelligence.
The acquisition will enable Cloudera to add Arcadia’s ArcEngine technology to Data Warehouse, which will increase the productivity of business users through enhanced self-service access to data and improved analytics response times.
The ArcEngine technology uses machine learning to anticipate and pre-compute common queries and reports. Many customers will continue to use the technology in its current form.
In upcoming releases, the technology will be merged into Cloudera Data Warehouse.
