Fidel, a London, UK-based fintech company, secured $18M in Series A funding.
The round was co-led by Nyca Partners and QED Investors, with participation from Commerce VC, Elefund, Horizons Ventures, RBC Ventures Inc. (a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada), 500 Startups and angel investors such as Cris Conde, former CEO of Sungard, and Taavet Hinrikus, founder of Transferwise.
Industry leaders Hans Morris, former President of Visa and Managing Partner of Nyca Partners, and Yusuf Ozdalga, Partner at QED Investors, will join Fidel’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to build the team and support growth, product development and international expansion in North America, the Nordics and APAC.
Led by Subrata Dev, Founder and CEO, Fidel provides a suite of APIs featuring tools for developers to build PCI compliant financial services products using real-time payment data from Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Customers including British Airways, Klarna and RBC Ventures Inc. (a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada) use Fidel API to connect with card networks.
