Heal, a market leader in doctor house calls, acquires Doctors on Call (DOC), a New York-based provider of medical house call services for the elderly.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition of Doctors on Call – which averaged 42,000 house calls to seniors in NYC in 2018 – is aimed at providing an omni-modal care solution aimed at lowering healthcare operating costs (opex) and offering always on, connected care.
The acquisition marks Heal’s entry into NYC, making its services available to more than 75 million Americans throughout Atlanta, Georgia; California, New York, Northern Virginia, and D.C.
Led by Nick Desai, co-founder and CEO, Heal provides technology powered doctor house calls throughout Atlanta, Georgia; California, New York, Northern Virginia, and D.C. Through an app or a site, a qualified medical doctor will arrive at patient’s home, twelve hours a day, 365 days a year.
Heal is in-network with all major PPO insurance companies in California, and New York, as well as Medicare, and will soon be in-network with insurers across the country. Investors include Fidelity ContraFund, Jim Breyer, the Ellison Family, Lionel Richie, and others.
