Aybuben Ventures, a Pan-Armenian venture capital fund dedicated to Armenian tech entrepreneurs from all over the world, launched with an initial $50m fund.
Led by Founding Partners Alexandr Yesayan, and Alexander Smbatyan, Aybuben Ventures focuses on investing in IT companies in artificial intelligence, machine learning and virtual reality sectors, among others, founded by Armenian entrepreneurs with existing products, sustainable traction, user base and international expansion prospects.
The firm also helps Armenian IT businesses scale worldwide, providing them with capital, expertise, market knowledge and worldwide network of interested partners and clients.
The average deal size is expected to be between $500k and $3m with Aybuben Ventures targeting a capital share of between 5 to 25%.
Alexander Smbatyan is a technological entrepreneur and venture investor with interests in Russia and Armenia. He is the founder and CEO of Genome — group of technology companies, which create products and services in the education, healthcare and human capital.
Alexandr Yesayan is a recognized leader in the telecommunications and IT industries. He is the founder and CEO of UCom, Armenia’s dominant mobile and fixed broadband service provider.
