Speechmatics Raises £6.35M in Series A Funding

Speechmatics, a Cambridge, UK-based provider of machine learning and automatic speech recognition solutions, raised £6.35m in Series A funding.

The round was led by AlbionVC, with participation from IQ Capital and several angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds for global expansion and product development.

Led by John Milliken, CEO, Speechmatics has built speech recognition technology engines currently available in 29 languages, either in the cloud or, on-premises. Applications include audio files, live subtitling in broadcast, and the conversion of call centre recordings into text.
The company has a team of 50 members in Cambridge, UK, Denver USA, Brno, Czech Republic, and Chennai, India.
