Nightfall AI (formerly known as Watchtower AI), a San Francisco, CA- and Palo Alto, CA-based cloud-native data loss prevention platform, raised $20.3m in funding.
The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures and Venrock, with participation from Pear VC, Sri Viswanath, CTO of Atlassian, and Kelvin Beachum of the New York Jets. In conjunction with the funding, Enrique Salem, Partner at Bain Capital Ventures, will join Nightfall’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to deepen the scope of the platform and continue to expand its business reach.
Led by Isaac Madan, Chief Executive Officer, and Rohan Sathe, Chief Technology Officer, Nightfall leverages machine learning and natural language processing to discover, classify, and protect sensitive information across SaaS and data infrastructure, providing continuous protection for cloud services like Slack, GitHub, and AWS.
The company also ensures proactive compliance with a number of regulatory regimes, including CCPA, GDPR, and HIPAA across consumer-facing & highly-regulated industries like healthcare, insurance, and education.
