genea

Genea, an Irvine, CA-based SaaS (software as a service) company, acquired Sequr, Inc., a cloud-based physical access control company.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquisition – which follows the purchase of Moylan Energy Management in July 2019 – will further expand its portfolio of commercial real estate technology solutions.

Led by Mike Maxsenti, Sequr provides a cloud-based on-premise access control software which combines enterprise-level security, management portal and scalability. In addition to automating user provisioning, the system allows users to use their phone as replacement for the physical keycard.

Led by Michael Wong, CEO, Genea provides software solutions for office buildings to create a superior experience for their tenants. The software is backed by 24/7 support and monitoring from Genea’s US-based service team, resulting in a 99% customer retention rate. It is currently implemented in over 250 million square feet of properties.
