Wheel, an Austin, Texas-based digital health company building the infrastructure required for virtual care to realize its full potential, raised $13.9m in Series A funding.

The round was led by CRV, with participation from Tusk Venture Partners and Silverton Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.

Founded in 2018 by Michelle Davey, CEO, and Griffin Mulcahey, Chief Compliance & Strategy Officer, and also led by Rafid Fadul, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Wheel provides healthcare companies with a tech-enabled platform to scale virtual care offerings compliantly, and access to a flexible workforce of specialized virtual care clinicians. Its core offering is a virtual care workforce and technology platform that matches the right clinician to the right patient.
