Nature’s Toolbox Secures $13M in Series A Funding

Nature’s Toolbox, Inc., a Santa Fe, N.M.-based early stage biomanufacturing and bioinformatics company, raised $13m in Series A funding.

The round was led by venture capital firm Anzu Partners. Nature’s Toolbox also announced that Charles McMillan, PhD has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Dr. McMillan served as the 10th Director of the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico before retiring from the role in 2017.

The new funding will be used to advance the company’s platform.

Led by Alex Koglin, PhD, Nature’s Toolbox provides a proprietary host-independent biological manufacturing and development platform used for pharmaceutical drug discovery and manufacturing of biologicals to counter disease. The potential of the technology extends beyond vaccines to potentially reach protein-based therapies used to fight cancer and autoimmune disorders.

In addition to this financing, Nature’s Toolbox also announced that it has received a $339k grant from the New Mexico Department of Economic Development’s Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP).
