Refurbed, an Austrian marketplace for refurbished electronics promoting sustainable consumption, raised $17m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Evli Growth Partners, with participation from Almaz Capital, FJ Labs, Bonsai Partners and All Iron Ventures and existing investors Klaus Hofbauer and Inventure Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to open up several new European markets.

Founded in 2017 by Peter Windischhofer, Kilian Kaminski and Jürgen Riedl, Refurbed is an online marketplace for refurbished electronic products ( phones, laptops, tablets and other electronics) that are like-new. The products have at least a 12-month warranty. The company currently operates in Germany, Austria, Italy and Poland, serving more than 150,000 European customers. In 2019, Refurbed posted more than USD 45 million in gross merchandising value (GMV). This year, the company aims to reach more than USD 100 million in GMV.
