Donr, a Newcastle, UK-based text giving platform, secured £350k in second equity funding round.
Backers included the North East Innovation Fund, supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Northstar Ventures (which had invested £300k in Q2 of 2019), and from angel Andrew Robson.
The company intends to use the funds to focus on product development.
Led by Chris Newell, CEO, and Paul Paterson, COO, Donr provides a platform which allows charities to receive donations via SMS text. The system is directly integrated with the UK’s five main mobile networks. The company recently hit the milestone of helping their community of 2,500 charities including The Trussell Trust, the National Theatre, Tyneside Cinema, CHUF and St Oswald’s to raise over £1m in aid of their causes, less than 18 months after launching their text-to-give service.
