VBit DC, a U.S.-based hosting hardware mining company and a subsidiary of Philadelphia, PA-based VBit Technologies, raised $1.1m in seed funding.
The round was led by angel fund Golden Age.
The company will use the funding to begin the construction of a 200MW data center in Alberta, Canada. Once completed, VBit’s Alberta data center will be one of the largest data centers in the world dedicated solely to Bitcoin mining operations.
Founded in 2018 by Danh Vo, CEO, VBit Technologies leverages data centers and equipment to help build efficient cryptocurrency mining operations that can be utilized by everyone. Since launching, the company has served around 3,000 customers in many different countries.
