Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), a Santa Rosa, Calif.-based technology company that allows enterprises, service providers and governments to accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world, acquired Eggplant, a digital automation intelligence specialist, from The Carlyle Group.
The deal was valued at US $330m.
The acquisition enables bi-directional leverage of measurement technologies between both companies, resulting in increased solution differentiation in the expanded offering.
Led by Dr. John Bates, CEO, Eggplant provides a software test automation platform provider that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics to automate test creation and test execution. Its Digital Automation Intelligence platform can test any technology on any device, operating system or browser at any layer, from the user interface (UI) to application programming interfaces (APIs) to the database. Eggplant had 2019 revenue of US $38m and Bates will join the Keysight leadership team reporting to Soon-Chai Gooi, president of Keysight’s Electronic Industrial Solutions Group.
Led by Ron Nersesian, chairman and CEO, Keysight provides solutions that optimize networks and bring electronic products to market faster and at a lower cost with offerings from design simulation, to prototype validation, to manufacturing test, to optimization in networks and cloud environments. Customers span the worldwide communications ecosystem, aerospace and defense, automotive, energy, semiconductor and general electronics end markets. Keysight generated revenues of $4.3B in fiscal year 2019.
