Kumovis, a Munich, Germany-based developer of a 3D printer with clean room integration, raised a €3.6m Series A funding round.
Backers included Renolit SE, Solvay Ventures, High-Tech Gründerfonds and Ffilipa Venture Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to enter new markets and further develop the technology.
Originally founded as a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich and led by Stefan Leonhardt and Dr Miriam Haerst, Kumovis is enabling the medical community to process high-performance polymers in a reproducible as well as regulatory compliant way, and adopt additive manufacturing for healthcare. In 2019, the company has released the R1 3D printer introducing the concept of an industry-specific system for decentralized clean room production to the market.
