The social game development industry is bracing for a major acquisition as the US-founded and based Zynga signs the agreement to purchase an Istanbul-based ‘Peak’.
The latter is well-known around the world for developing the global franchise Toon Blast and Toy Blast. The Turkish enterprise has been consecutively praised as one of the world’s most successful live game brands. For 2 years straight, both Toon Blast and Toy Blast which represent the forever franchise have ranked in the top 20 iPhone games in the United States.
The new addition will be a significant contribution to the annual revenues of Zynga. The San Francisco-based game development company was founded in 2007. Over the past years, the company has managed to launch a number of global best-sellers. They mainly focus on social, live, and online games, often multiplayer versions that focus on attracting as many people as possible. Genres vary but the company has gained momentum for their mesmerizing online gambling applications. Many of the new online casinos to play at are developed by Zynga, bolstering their spot in the industry. Gambling platforms and games produced by Zynga come with special designs and amazing effects. These are some of the main reasons why the company has shaped itself as a global leader in the field.
Peak itself has formed into a large company as well. The purchase will come with a value of over $1.8 billion along with 100 experienced, knowledgeable staff members. These professionals are who truly make this enterprise stand out from the rest of the entities within this extremely competitive market. The purchase will help Zynga further grow its franchise line while contributing to the company’s margin expansion throughout the years to come.
The brand was established a decade ago, in 2010, by Sidar Sahin in Istanbul, Turkey. Responsible for creating and maintaining Toon Blast and Toy Blast, the company managed to attract a large base of audience members from all around the world. Its influence is particularly significant across the United States. That is one of the prime reasons why Zynga expressed lots of interest in purchasing the brand with its very own franchise.
Toon Blast and Toy Blast alone have on average 12 million Mobile Daily Active Users (DAUs). This is one of the most important factors in the success of a franchise. Considering the consistency of this number in case of Toon Blast and Toy Blast, the total DAUs of Zynga is expected to soar by 60% over the next few months following the finalization of the acquisition.
The Peak’s own Chief Executive Officer and a founder Sidar Sahin asserted profoundly on the process of the acquisition: This is a monumental partnership not only for Zynga and Peak but for the whole mobile gaming industry. Both companies share a common vision — to bring people together through games. Peak’s culture is rooted in relentless learning and progress, so as we embark on this new chapter in our journey together with Zynga, we remain as committed as ever to our unique culture. We’re very excited about our combined future and what we will accomplish together.”
Zynga will purchase Peak for the estimated price of $1.8 billion. The value of the purchase is compromised in the cash amount of roughly $900 million while the Zynga common stock will account for the rest of the total sum which also tops at approximately $900 million.
The purchase is expected to have a significant impact on the industry as a whole. As explained by the CEO of Peak, both companies have a very similar vision and working style. They both encourage innovation and novelty among workers, investing heavily in the development of new ideas. Therefore, we can only suggest that the partnership is set to produce numerous interesting projects in the future.
