NS1, a NYC-based modern application and access networking company, raised $40m in Series D funding.
The round, which brings total funding to $125m, was led by Energy Impact Partners with participation from existing investors. In conjunction with the funding, Shawn Cherian, partner at EIP, will join NS1’s Board of Directors as part of the round.
The company intends to use the funds invest in product innovation, and expand its engineering capacity.

Its software-defined, next-generation application networking stack modernizes DNS, DHCP, and IPAM to enable automation, visibility, and control in today’s complex, heterogeneous environments. NS1 has more than 600 enterprise customers worldwide, including LinkedIn, Dropbox, Pitney Bowes, Bleacher Report, and The Guardian, among the others.
