Skydio, a Redwood City, Calif.-based U.S. drone manufacturer and world leader in autonomous flight technology, raised $100m in Series C funding.
The round was led by Next47 with participation from Levitate Capital, NTT DOCOMO Ventures, and existing investors including Andreessen Horowitz, IVP, and Playground, bringing the company’s total funding to $170m.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development and go-to-market expansion in enterprise and public sector markets.
Founded in 2014 by M.I.T. engineers with expertise in AI, robotics, cameras, and electric vehicles and led by Adam Bry, CEO, and Mark Cranney, COO, Skydio is a drone manufacturer and world leader in autonomous flight. The company leverages AI to create intelligent flying machines for use by consumer, enterprise, and government customers. Its solutions are used by enterprises across a wide range of industry sectors.
Skydio is also announcing: Mark Cranney as Chief Operating Officer, leading all operations and go-to-market for the company, Brendan Groves as Head of Regulatory and Policy Affairs, and Alberto Farronato as Chief Marketing Officer.
