Pure Watercraft, a Seattle, WA-based provider of electric marine propulsion solutions, raised $23.4m in Series A funding.

The round was led by L37.

The company will use the new funding to scale operations from beta to broad commercialization, including building out its manufacturing facility, growing its direct-to-customer field installation and support team, and hiring key engineering, sales and marketing, and manufacturing talent.

Led by CEO Andy Rebele, Pure Watercraft delivers marine propulsion solutions. Its all-electric outboards combine proprietary high-voltage battery packs with energy density equal to the electric cars to enable a boating experience that protects the air and waterways, with virtually no noise. City and national governments are already encouraging zero-emissions standards, with some cities including Amsterdam, Hamburg and Venice passing regulations encouraging purchasing and use of electric boats.
